From the moment Molly Sandén stepped onto the stage at Sentrum Scene, the tone was set: a Saturday night dance party. Performing in a venue that sits somewhere between club and theatre, Sandén's 75 minute, 18 song setlist was built on contrasts. Her recent albums Strawberry Blonde and Blåögd have established a dual identity—one glittering and nostalgic, the other introspective and stripped-down, which the setlist mirrored.
The upbeat, disco-tinged tracks, with Sandén accompanied by dancers, brought movement to the crowd early on, but when the production was pulled back, fewer lights, softer arrangements, her clean voice carried the entire room. Live, Sandén is one of Sweden's most professional entertainers. She has a natural ability to make an audience, no matter the size, feel involved, which elevated the overall experience. From the opening track, "Dom ska veta" (from her 2021 album of the same name) to the closing song "Rosa himmel", she gave every ounce of her energy to the performance. It would not be surprising to see her perform at Oslo Spektrum one day.
