The Swedish popstar Yaeger, aka Hanna Jäger, has gradually moved from electronic pop R&B towards infectious dance and rave-pop, and some of the small afternoon crowd at Slottsfjell were clearly infected by her "emotional rave pop", as she described it. It was her first concert in Norway.
A highlight was the energetic and playful single "Water Pistol", where Yaeger uses her voice as an extra instrument, expressing rhythms as well as melody. The synthwork in the single "Lupins In Blue", featuring lyrics about both the positive and fearful aspects of love, seemed to give the audience an endorphin rush. The vibe of her music is more suited to an evening slot at a festival than the daylight of 16.35 in the afternoon, so hopefully next time we will dance until midnight, and the crowd will be bigger.
