Bambie Thug represented Ireland in this year's Eurovision Song Contest, and ended up in sixth place with the song "Doomsday Blue" – Ireland's highest position in 24 years. As an Irish person myself, I was impressed with how Bambie Thug defied expectations at Eurovision, and in Ireland, so I took the opportunity to check out the "Crown the Witch" tour when it arrived at John Dee in Oslo.

The multifaceted artist has created their own term: "ouija-pop". The music contains elements of pop, rock, metal and electronica, and the performance is theatrical, with elements of the occult. Bambie Thug performs with mischievous confidence, surrounded by a couple of half naked dancers wearing balaclavas, who sensually move around the artist, often simulating sexual acts while cheekily gazing coldly at the goth filled crowd.

Highlights of the set included the single "Hex So Heavy", "Necromancy", "HIEROPHANT", and the Eurovision hit "Doomsday Blue", during which Bambie Thug's sudden, spine-chilling screams captivate the crowd. There is also warmth, however, with a stirring performance of "Children Should Be Laughing", which is dedicated to the children of Palestine. It's a powerful moment where several people in the front row are visibly emotional, and Bambie Thug approaches them to hold their hands. This artist is using their voice for more than music, and reminds people that all their voices matter.
