Suede har gitt ut Autofiction: A Short Film, et kreativt prosjekt og en visuell følgesvenn til bandets kommende niende studioalbum, Autofiction som slippes 16.september.Se filmen her:
Suedes to singler; Det kommende albumets åpningsspor 'She Still Leads Me On' og siste utgivelse '15 Again', er nå visuelt oppsummert i Autofiction: A Short Film, et samtidsdrama om to personer som står ved et følelsesmessig avgjørende veikryss.

Kortfilmen, regissert av Katie Lambert (MrMr Films) i samarbeid med Suede, utforsker kompleksiteten i hukommelsen, den oppfattede sannheten, kommunikasjonen og angsten i menneskelige relasjoner. Disse temaene kjøres som en rød tråd gjennom Suedes kommende "Autofiction"; et av Brett Andersons mest personlige album til dags dato.
Mat Osman, bassist i Suede, snakker om Autofiction: A Short Film:
“With the Autofiction short film we didn't want to make a normal performance video - instead we wanted to make a short film that overlapped at a Suede gig, with the band as just a minor part of the film, rather than at the centre. MrMr then came up with the idea of taking a crossroad in a couple's life and playing with it in odd ways - moving backwards and forwards in time, seeing it through different sets of eyes, seeing their hopes and fears and memories all jumbled up too. Autofiction: A Short Film takes some of the themes of the album: youth and ageing, love and loss, fear and joy - sees them play out in the story of Chris and Hannah.”

“ A Short Film is about that moment in a relationship when it’s crunch time. The moment when you’re at a certain age and forever feels incredibly close. When you’re not sure if you’re with the one, or if you could find another one, or if that’s a crap societal construction anyway.
We loved the idea of creating a film which centers around a real-time night, and a gig - but that actually explores past, present and future all at once. Which is a mush and a mess of feelings; because isn’t that the memory soup we’re constantly swimming in anyway? This film felt like a true collaboration. Hannah and Chris have so much of both of us in them, this film stands as an Autofiction not just of Suede’s beautiful new music, but also of MrMr.”
Autofiction: A Short Film er Suedes første kortfilm og den nyeste i en linje av visuelle samarbeid som kan spores tilbake til Suedes mest formative år; konsertfilmen deres fra 1993 laget med Derek Jarman live på Londons Clapham Grand, til 2015s Night Thoughts, der Suede debuterte albumet live i sin helhet og fulgte deres egen stumfilm regissert av Roger Sargent, noe som fikk The Telegraph til å stille spørsmålet "Have Suede reinvented the album?»
Autofiction er Suedes niende studioalbum og er allerede referert til som "et ypperlig nytt album" av The Times og "so moving, the punk ferocity protecting a deeply vulnerable core" av MOJO Magazine. I forbindelse med albumutgivelsen legger bandet ut på en rekke eksklusive butikkjobber i Storbritannia og en håndfull datoer i Europa. Vi satser på et gjensyn med Suede i Norge.
