Svenske Johnossi slipper nå singelen "Echoes", og annonserer samtidig sitt kommende, sjette album 'Torch // Flame' (BMG), som slippes 28. februar. Gitarist og vokalist John Engelbert og trommeslager Oskar "Ossi" Bonde sier følgnde om den nye singelen:

”A song about being driven by ego and the shame and darkness that comes with being a destructive individual. This was the first song we wrote for the album and it set the tone”

Musikkvideoen til låta bruker utelukkende klipp fra kultklassiker-skrekkfilmen "Night of The Living Dead" fra 1968. Filmen er regissert av George A. Romero. Vokalist Engelbert og kona hans Nathalie har klippet til musikkvideoen - noe som først startet bare litt på gøy. De har aldri laget en musikkvideo før.

John Engelbert sier følgende om hvordan musikkvideoen ble til:

"We had this idea of a video that felt haunting, psychological and a bit psychedelic too. Being a fan of black and white 60’s horror films for a long time, Nathalie had wanted to do something with the material from 'Night of The Living Dead' for a while. When she heard ’Echoes' she instantly felt that the two would fit well together. By using handpicked scenes from the film and adding a few very simple (crappy) effects we started building our own storyline. A psyche within the film. It was remarkable how the original editing of the film synched so well with the rhythm and pulse of the track."

Johnossi har selvsagt fått tillatelse fra rettighetshaverne i USA til å bruke klippene.

Johnossi gjorde comeback i november 2019 med singelen "Longer The Wait, Harder The Fall".

Det kommende albumet "Torch // Flame" er produsert og mikset av Pelle Gunnerfeldt (The Hives, Refused, Viagra Boys). For å distansere seg selv fra hverdagen, dro bandet til en stor herregård utenfor Stockholm, der de spilte inn plata i komplett isolasjon i løpet av september 2019. Bandet sier selv: “We were pretty much eating, breathing, and sleeping the whole process of creating this record, and it brought a really special feeling into the work,” says Bonde. “It felt as if it was never meant to be any other way.”
